Jeddah, KSA September 22,2018: AIPS ASIA – the continental wing of the solitary world body of sports journalists, has approved to hold young reporters training program one each at Karachi in Pakistan and Bhubaneswar in India will be organized this year while Annual Award and Hall of Fame ceremony will take place at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia next year. The EC was met under the chairmanship of President, Mr. Sattam Al Alsehali.
The President of AIPS, Mr. Gianni Merlo and the President, Saudi Sports Media Federation, Mr. Rajullah Alsolami were also in attendance at the meeting on a special invitation. Both the dignitaries highly eulogized the performance of AIPS ASIA and expressed the hope that the body will be able to further expanding its role towards promotion of sports journalism across the continent.
In his remarks, Mr. Gianni Merlo was of the view that the Jeddah-Congress is rightly expected to bring far reaching results during the time to come. Mr. Sattam Alsehli said that a series of sports events of international standards are taking place in Asia continent on constant basis and there is a need to become acquainted to fresh professional dimensions and promoting new competitive trends of the field.
Executive committee members while expressing their views on the occasion also put forward suggestions towards promotion of sports journalism.
Meanwhile, the AIPS ASIA’s EC unanimously approved to organize two young reporters training programs one each at Karachi in Pakistan and Bhubaneswar in India during ensuing November and December respectively. It was also decided to hosting Asian Award ceremony at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia wherein the players will also be allowed to join the Hall of Fame. The Executive Committee of AIPS ASIA also approved certain organizational matters and the members described the performance of their association satisfactorily.
