ISLAMABAD, Sept. 3, 2020: The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, has said that sports promotion was one of the priority subjects of the present government. This he informed the Secretary-General of Asian Sports Journalists Association, Amjad Aziz Malik, when the latter called upon the President in Islamabad. Mr. Malik presented his latest book titled, “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Cricket 70 years” to Dr. Alvi.
Mr. Malik, who also administers China Window, a cultural centre in Peshawar, presented a recent issue of China Magazine as well. Further, a copy of Sunday Sports which also is being brought out by Mr. Malik was placed before the President as well.
While talking on the occasion Mr. President appreciated the achievements of Mr. Malik especially in the field of sports and expressed the confidence that the latter would continue his good efforts towards strengthening the image of the nation.
Meanwhile, Mr. Malik apprised the President about working of the Peshawar-based Chinese cultural centre, China Window, and said that the institution was contributing a useful role towards further cementing the bonds of the Pakistan-China Friendship.
Mr. Malik also requested the President to spare some time to visit China Window during his upcoming visit to the provincial capital, Peshawar. The secretary general also highlighted the working of the Asian Sports Journalists Association to the President of Pakistan.
