Celebrating the one-year-to-go Olympic Games, CTOC revealed the sports outfit and formal uniform on the date originally belonging to the opening of the Games.
TAIPEI, July 25, 2020: In the one-year countdown celebration of Tokyo 2020, Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) revealed a delegation uniform on July 23, which included the sports outfit and formal uniform, designed with elements of traditional culture and a significant symbol of the country.
Celebrating the one-year-to-go Olympic Games, CTOC revealed the sports outfit and formal uniform on the date originally belonging to the opening of the Games. The uniform was displayed on a runway show by athletes who have qualified for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In line with the spirit of Olympic agenda 2020, the sports outfit, sponsored by Victor, was made by local recycled fiber and dyed with environmental-friendly pigment, while focuses on functionality involving comfort and breath. Also, designed with the triangle cut, it implied symbolic 100 peaks of Chinese Taipei, which meant the blessing for all the athletes could be on top and achieve great results.
On the other hand, the formal uniform was planned by fashion designer, Justin Chou. The concept of the uniform merged the indigenous culture of iron window bar with plum blossom badge to stand for Team TPE.
This launch, CTOC also invited 1964 Olympian, Professor WU A-Min, who won the decathlon gold medal in 1966 Asian Games, to present the new uniform and pass down attitude of perseverance to the new generation.
For this One-Year-To-Go celebration, CTOC expected to unite the whole nation to join Team TPE and cheer for all the athletes and more importantly, by spreading the Olympic spirit in this challenging time with stories behind every athlete.
Athletes were fantastic role models for society as they continue to inspire the nation all through their actions and resilience. CTOC dedicates to promoting Olympic Value and building a better world through sport.
