Media Union and Olympic Academy organise lecture entitled ′′Hiring Data Journalism in Sports Media′′

Al-Sehali said, Palestinian media has an influential voice and is trustworthy, and this lecture for us is only the beginning, and we look forward to continuing cooperation and organising more media events in the future in and outside Palestine.

GAZA, Oct. 5, 2020: The Palestinian Federation of Sports Media and Academy, supported and sponsored by the Asian Sports Journalism Federation, organised a lecture via zoom program, entitled ′′Recruitment of data journalism in sports media′′ by Dr. Adnan Gesture from Iraq.
More than 50 media and media workers from and outside Palestine joined the meeting. In his welcome speech the President of the Union, Osama Fal, praised the beginning of the partnership with the Olympic Academy, and the role of Major General Jibril Rajoub, in advancing Palestinian sports at all levels.
The president of the Asian Sports Press Association, Sattam Al-Sehali, in his speech, said: "Our first meeting in Palestine was due to the chairman of the Olympic Committee, General Jibril Rajoub and the Palestinian Sports Media Union for these tremendous efforts to advance Palestinian sports.
He praised the efforts to advance the Palestinian media, explaining that since 2017 he assumed the presidency of the Asian Association was looking to support the Palestinian Union and stand by it. He confirmed that it agreed with the International Sports Press Association in organising media courses and events in Palestine.

Amin Barhoush, head of the academy, presented the lecturer Dr. Adel Gesture, by briefing his bio and highlighting his scientific and sporting achievements.
For his part, the lecturer Dr. Adel enriched the symposium that lasted more than two hours, with interesting information on data journalism, analysis and how to use this data to create stories and reports.
Dr. Adel stressed on the importance of documenting data and he called on all sports and media institutions and through their media offices to establish archive departments whose functions are based on documenting and preparing the database, because the next language will be the language of numbers in the modern media and social age media.
