The Berkeley Police Department has asked the community for help with two ongoing investigations underway by its Special Victims Unit.

Investigators are trying to find the victim in one case and the location in another.

On June 10, Berkeley police say a male driver in a blue Honda Element pulled up alongside a girl walking alone on Eunice Street near Codornices Park at about 11:50 a.m.

The man tried to engage the girl in conversation but was interrupted, BPD said.

"A concerned citizen observed the interaction, approached the juvenile, and the adult suspect immediately drove away," the Berkeley Police Department said in a recent community alert.

Police have identified the driver, but the girl left the area before officers arrived.

Investigators are now hoping to find her.

The girl was described as white with a light complexion, 13-16 years old, with dark curly shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

Berkeley police ask anyone with information about this incident (Case #2023-00028042) to call the Special Victims Unit at 510-981-5728.
